The company was launched in 2018 to work with partners across the spectrum to explore new strategies that will end the cycles of incarceration. One of the most important goals is to improve current conditions of confinement by encouraging for-profit corporations to support successful re-entry and reintegration efforts for people during and after incarceration.

Deplorable and abusive conditions of confinement not only threaten the well-being of those who are incarcerated, they also increase safety risks for correctional officers and other institutional staff.
Bernadette has more than 15 years of experience working with police, correctional and juvenile detention officers to improve the conditions of confinement and support successful re-entry and reintegration efforts. This not only benefits people who are incarcerated and their families, but it also increases the safety of officers.
